Today in class we used the iPod touches to listen to a podcast from Spain that teaches/reinforces the rules about SER vs. ESTAR.
Here is where you can listen to the podcast online to complete your work if you didn't finish in class or you were absent.
Here is a copy of the worksheet you need to fill out while listening to the dialogue (found at about 22 minutes and 30 seconds in to the podcast). Once you complete the blanks, pause the podcast and translate (to the best of your ability) what EACH line of the dialogue is saying. (You do NOT have to translate word for word! and DO NOT USE A TRANSLATOR – practice what YOU are learning!)
Once you have finished that, go to about 6 minutes and 30 seconds of the podcast. Record the RULES and USAGE guidelines for SER vs. ESTAR as Ben and Marina describe them in your notes.
TAREA: Complete the above (done in class) PLUS the in class worksheet about Ser/Estar. (This worksheet is not available online.) Tomorrow we will correct both SER and ESTAR worksheets, review the rules as presented by Ben & Marina, sing "Rubber Ducky" in Spanish (here are the lyrics - they were passed out in class today) and get some more translation practice in with Chapter 6 verbs/vocabulary.
